Too often, innovators and their outsourcing providers have competing timeline horizons, budget expectations, and business priorities such that not all CMC (chemistry, manufacturing and controls) aspects are fully considered until it is too late. This can lead to delayed IND submissions or a clinical hold letter from the FDA, ultimately resulting in serious financial loss for innovators or even program failure. We believe these life cycle challenges can be alleviated with a modular approach from discovery to the initiation of Phase 1 clinical trials.
Modular CMC is a mammalian cell culture-based drug substance manufacturing platform that reduces timelines and regulatory risks through the introduction of QbD (Quality-by-Design) principles earlier in the drug development life cycle.
